We care about you and your health. Our dedicated team is here to answer all your questions and get you back on your feet!
Feel free to request your next appointment with us online. Please note online bookings are not confirmed as final until you have spoken with a member of our staff.
Here at Garden State Orthopaedics, we have trained staff to deal with your insurance and billing matters, whether it be private insurance, Medicare, PPO, HMO, PIP, Workers Comp, or other coverage. We accept most major health plans in the area with the exception of a few. For a listing of unaccepted insurance carriers please see the ‘insurance information’ at the bottom of this page. If you are uninsured, that is no problem at all. Our billing staff is here to assist with all fee for service payment plans.
We accept Workers' Compensation insurance and Motor Vehicle Accident (PIP) Insurance.
If you were injured at work, or in a motor vehicle accident, there are certain procedures you should follow. We understand this is a complicated situation and we are here to help guide you in any way we can. It is critical that you report your injury to your employer, who will need to open a claim. Upon scheduling your appointment, please provide us with your workers’ comp adjusters contact details as well as that claim number, so we can obtain authorization and verify the address to submit claims. The same goes for automobile accidents. Once you report your accident to your auto insurance company, they will assign you a claim number and an adjuster. Please provide us with this information as we will need it when scheduling your initial appointment.
Please use the contact us link to answer any additional questions you may have.
Comprehensive orthopedic care of your sprains, strains and fractures includes proper diagnosis and treatment. As the initial symptoms of a strain, sprain, and smaller fracture may appear similar, it is imperative
that you get to your orthopedic specialist so they can properly diagnose and treat you.
Arthroscopy is used to further diagnose and treat damaged joint areas through a less invasive surgical procedure, including rotator cuff repairs and meniscus repairs. The recovery time for arthroscopic surgery is usually less than more invasive procedures and has less downtime. Dr. Barr is affiliated with Virtua, Jefferson and South Jersey Surgical Centers.
Carpal Tunnel syndrome is caused by pressure on your median nerve resulting in pain and/or numbness that can lead to weakness, damage, and loss of ability. Non-invasive treatments like braces may be used to relieve some of the symptoms while an often-quick, outpatient surgery is often used in severe cases.
Dr. Barr is skilled in the highly specialized field of reconstructive orthopedic surgery. Reconstructive surgery for orthopedics involves the surgical reconstruction and re-building of a part of the musculoskeletal system that may be too damaged for other types of repairs, including ACL Reconstruction.

In New Jersey, Need-for-Treatment Exams are often required to be eligible to receive treatment and assistance. In the case of Permanency Exams, Dr. Barr is skilled at determining the degree of disability in accordance with state-required guidelines.
In many cases, insurance companies and Plaintiff's Counsel need a qualified orthopedic specialist to review treatment profiles and complete independent medical evaluations (IMEs). Dr. Barr takes the time to thoroughly review each patient’s records and examine the patient to determine if the right course of action is being taken.
At any of our offices, no visitors are permitted to accompany patients, except when needed to help with care. If you feel you need help during your appointment, contact your provider’s office to ask whether you may have one healthy person over the age of 18 join you.
If someone drives you to your appointment, unless they are an approved companion, they will not be permitted to wait for you inside the lobby. They must wait for you outside the building until your appointment is complete.
All patients under 18 must have one healthy parent or guardian accompany them to outpatient appointments.
When entering any of our offices, all patients and visitors are required to complete a health screening, which may include having your temperature checked and answering some questions about your health and any recent travel. Any visitor who is sick, has a high risk of prior exposure or has traveled from a high-risk geographical area will not be permitted to enter our offices under any circumstances.
To help maintain a healthy environment, we are requiring all patients and visitors to wear a face covering or mask at all times. We ask that you bring your own face covering or mask to wear. If you do not have a face covering, we will provide one.
Please print and complete the forms prior to your appointment. You may email them to info@gardenstateorthopaedcs.com or bring them with you to your appointment.
