Dr. Barr is a board-certified orthopaedic specialist. He was raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a graduate of Cherry Hill East High School, and graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
After receiving his medical training from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and interning at Metropolitan Hospital, Dr. Barr completed his orthopaedic surgical residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During this time, he spent three months each at Shriners Hospital for pediatric orthopaedics, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for hand surgery, Cooper Trauma Center for orthopaedic traumatology, and Graduate Hospital for sports medicine. After residency, he completed a fellowship in spinal reconstructive surgery in Cleveland, Ohio under Dr. Arthur D. Steffee. His fellowship consisted of comprehensive training in spinal conditions and disorders, including both minimally invasive and major spinal reconstructive procedures. Dr. Barr has also completed advanced training in spinal instrumentation as well as microsurgical techniques.
Garden State Orthopaedics, with seven offices conveniently located throughout central and southern New Jersey, offers comprehensive and individualized orthopaedic treatment. Dr. Barr's specialties include advanced techniques in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, operative and non-operative management of general orthopaedic conditions, fracture care, sports medicine, industrial and work-related injuries, minimally invasive spine surgery, orthopaedic disability evaluations, and independent medical evaluations.
Professional memberships include American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Pennsylvania Medical Association, New Jersey Orthopaedic Society, Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Camden County Medical Society. Dr. Barr is a diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
Dr. Barr's hospital affiliations include Virtua-West Jersey Health System and Kennedy Health System. He was board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in October of 1996 and re-certified in January of 2007.
Robert G. Ranelle, D.O., F.A.O.A.O
Dr. Robert Ranelle is originally from Fort Worth Texas, where he completed his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan College and received his Doctrine from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ranelle completed his postgraduate residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In addition to over twenty five years of orthopadeic surgery experience, Dr. Ranelle also specializes in treating complex orthopedic and spinal conditions including both cervical and lumbar, limited invasive procedures, spinal fusions, discectomies, decompressive surgery, and spinal cord stimulator implantation.
Dr. Ranelle is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is licensed in three different states including: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. He has received honors including Diplomat by Texas State Board of Medical Examiners from 1990 through 2008, Fort Worth Magazine: “Top Doctors” voted by peers in 2005, and was awarded to Fellow, American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics in September of 2008.
